Football Postpones the Start of 2013 Spring Practice

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School football team and Athletic Director and head football coach Greg Moore has announced the postponement of spring football practice, effective today, May 9, 2013.

The Vikings will now practice on May 10 and May 13-17.

“We have some fundamental work to do, but we feel like waiting one more day to get started will be a good thing for all involved,” head coach Greg Moore said. “There’s a lot going on at the school right now and waiting until Friday makes sense on many different levels.”

Moore says the success of the Vikings football team will also hinge on what takes place in the summer months as well as spring practice.

“It’s only six days out there but we will still get a foundation in place to build on this summer.”

The Vikings finished 2012 at 7-5 and made a second consecutive trip to the GHSA State Playoffs, winning its first playoff game in school history.

FPD will kick off the 2013 season hosting George Walton Academy at 7:30 p.m.
