Girls and Boys Soccer Earn All-Middle Georgia Honors

MACON, Ga. – Making the GHSA State Final Four isn’t easy.

But that’s exactly what the First Presbyterian Day School girls and boys soccer team did this past season.

Even though both teams fell just short of a state title appearance, FPD still landed multiple players on The Macon Telegraph’s All-Middle Georgia Girls and Boys Soccer Team.

On the girls team, the Lady Vikings had a whopping seven team members including Atalia Ramirez, Jane Howell, Claire Crawford and Sara Robertson.

Ramirez, who has signed to play at Georgia Southern, scored 39 goals throughout the 2013 campaign to lead the Lady Viking scoring attack. Howell, a sophomore, was also impressive on the offensive end of the field, knocking in 18 goals and dishing out 17 assists.

On the defensive side of the ball, Robertson helped preserve many leads for the Lady Vikings while Crawford finished the 2013 season with 14 shutouts.

Katey Griggs, Taylor Chapman, and Amy Morgan earned a spot on the team as honorable mention, respectively.

The boys team, meanwhile, placed six players on the All-Middle Georgia team.

First-team members include Christian Moore and Conner Gettmann, while Bradley Mullis, Kevin Griggs, and Jeremy Overman nabbed second-team honors.

Chandler Cundiff was also named as an honorable mention.

Moore scored seven goals in the state playoffs to lead the Vikings to the Final Four, while Gettmann helped preserve 11 shutouts on the season.
