FPD Releases Schedule on Austin Childers Field Dedication

MACON, Ga. – In what has become one of the most anticipated events on the school calendar this year, FPD has released the itinerary for the Austin Childers Field Dedication ceremony, set for Friday night, August 30, 2013.

Please note the program will begin promptly at 6:55 p.m. and fans are encouraged to be in their seats well before the opening comments.

FPD is anticipating a large crowd for Friday’s game against visiting George Walton. Carpooling is encouraged, and the school will offer a shuttle service to help transport fans. Additional parking will be available at the following area churches: Emmanuel Church on Foster Road; Stone Edge Church/Victory Christian Center on Bass Road; and Northway Church on Zebulon Road. The shuttle service will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. Extra security will be on hand to help direct traffic.

The schedule of events is as follows:

5:30-6:30 p.m. – Viking Nation family tailgate

6:55 p.m. – Program begins on the field

Welcome – Gregg Thompson (Headmaster)

Opening Prayer – Johnny Morton (Bible Department Chair)

Remarks and Introduction – Saynor Foshee (Chairman of the Board of Trustees)

Proclamation – Allen Peake (State Representative)

Remarks and Introduction – Greg Moore (Athletic Director)

Dedicatory Remarks – Bill Curry (Former Head College Football Coach – Alabama & Georgia Tech)

Closing Prayer – Charley Chase (FPD Chaplain)

National Anthem – Paul McCommon (Musician)

7:30 p.m. – Kickoff vs. George Walton
