Three Football Players Named Preseason All-Middle Georgia

MACON, Ga. – Over the past two seasons, the First Presbyterian Day School football team leadership has been well-documented, evidenced by back-to-back trips to the GHSA postseason.

And it appears that trend could continue in 2013 as three Vikings have earned spots on the All-Middle Georgia Preseason Team, announced Sunday, August 18 by The Macon Telegraph.

FPD picked up two first-team nods and one second-team accolade.

Senior lineman Caleb Samuel was named to the All-Middle Georgia First Team on offense while senior linebacker Will Black was placed on the First Team on defense.

Senior offensive lineman Martin Wilson was also picked to lead the Red & Black this season, gaining a spot on the Second Team Offense.

“I think it speaks well of our entire team when the guys who have been voted Captains are the same players being chosen for different recognitions in the media,” head coach Greg Moore said.

Moore also understands the need for senior leadership to continue being successful in the GHSA.

“All three of these guys are hard workers, represent our school and team well, and I anticipate will have strong senior seasons,” Moore said.

The Vikings finished the 2012 campaign at 7-5, advancing to the second round of the GHSA State Playoffs.

FPD kicks off the 2013 season at home, hosting George Walton Academy on Friday night, August 30 at 7:30 p.m.
