Girls 1st, Boys 5th at FPD/Warner Robins Run Wild Meet

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School girls and boys cross country teams co-hosted its first home meet of the 2013 season on Saturday morning in the FPD/Warner Robins Run Wild Meet, with the Lady Vikings taking first place and the Vikings finishing in fifth at the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home.

In the girls meet, the Lady Vikings edged out Veterans by three points, tallying 44 points on the day.

FPD was paced by Jessica Smith’s second place finish at 20:18. Crossing the finish line next for the Lady Vikings in fourth place was Savannah Phillips at 20:58.

Katie O’Quinn took home a sixth place spot for FPD at 21:19 while McKenzie Peterson was tenth with a time of 22:41.

In the boys race, FPD finished in fifth place with 107 points

Anchored by Will Martin’s second place finish at 17:14, the Vikings were able put themselves in contention.

Paul Young was the next finisher for FPD, taking 13th with an overall mark of 18:30.

Bryce Little rounded out the top three finishers for FPD, crossing the finish line in 23rd place at 19:08.

The girls and boys cross country teams return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 1, traveling to Mary Persons for a meet beginning at 4:30 p.m.
