Softball at No. 4 in Third GHSA Power Ratings of 2013

MACON, Ga. – After winning 11 of its last 12 games, the First Presbyterian Day School softball team (14-5, 3-1 Reg. 7A) is at no. 4 in the third power ratings of the 2013 season, released Tuesday, Sept. 24, by the GHSA office.

The rankings are used at the end of the regular season in Class A to determine state playoff qualifiers, with the top-16 teams from public and private schools advancing to the tournament.

FPD brings in a ranking of 11.21 and is less than one point behind the top three spots, owned by Eagles Landing Christian, Brookstone and Savannah Christian, respectively.

The Lady Vikings are in action twice this week for two region games. FPD hosts GMC at 5 p.m. on Sept. 24 then travels to play Twiggs County on Sept. 26, also a 5 p.m. start.
