Softball to Host Cancer Awareness Night on Sept. 10

MACON, Ga. – The First Presbyterian Day School softball team will host “Cancer Awareness Night” on Tuesday, Sept. 10, in its region opener against Wilkinson County. The event corresponds with “Cancer Awareness Week” for GHSA softball teams.

The Lady Vikings will sport their pink jerseys during their game against the Warriors.

Donations to “strikeout” cancer can be made to benefit the Cancer Awareness Society upon entry into the game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as well.

First pitch for FPD’s region opener is at 5 p.m. at the FPD Softball Complex.

The Lady Vikings (10-4) are fresh off a mid-season tournament win at the Jefferson Davis Invitational this past weekend.

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while upholding the school’s mission statement to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory as a member of the Georgia High School Association.
