Softball Stays at No. 4 in Fourth GHSA Power Ratings of 2013

MACON, Ga. – After winning 11 of its last 13 games, the First Presbyterian Day School softball team (14-6, 3-2 Reg. 7A) is at no. 4 in the fourth power ratings of the 2013 season, released Tuesday, Oct. 1, by the GHSA office.

The rankings are used at the end of the regular season in Class A to determine state playoff qualifiers, with the top-16 teams from public and private schools advancing to the tournament.

FPD brings in a ranking of 12.08 and is just over three points behind the top three spots, held by Eagles Landing Christian, Savannah Christian and Brookstone, respectively.

The Lady Vikings have four games scheduled this week, starting with a home match against Rutland on Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m. FPD travels to play at Peach County on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4:30 p.m. followed by a home-doubleheader with Twiggs County and Aquinas on Thursday, Oct. 3 starting at 4 p.m. Senior night is also scheduled in between the games on Thursday.
