Girls 4th, Boys 6th at GHSA State Meet

CARROLLTON, Ga. – The FPD girls cross country team finished fourth and the boys took sixth at the GHSA Class-A Private Cross Country Meet at the Carrollton High School Course on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 9.

The Lady Vikings totaled 162 points on the day, paced by Jessica Smith’s eighth place finish at 20:19. Savannah Phillips also posted a high spot, finishing in 13th place overall at 21:05.

Katie O’Quinn was next to cross the finish line for FPD in 38th place at 22:28.44 while McKenzie Peterson was 39th at 22:28.62.

In the boys meet, the Vikings tallied 163 points and finished sixth overall.

Will Martin posted a top-10 finish, grabbing ninth place at 17:27.

The Vikings placed three consecutive runners in spots 30-32. Bryce Little garnered 30th at 18:37, Paul Young 31st at 18:38 and Sonny Bailey 32nd at 18:39, respectively.

The state meet brings an end to the 2013 cross country season at FPD. The Viking Athletic Department sincerely thanks all runners and the Class of 2014 for their hard work and dedication to the FPD cross country program throughout the years.
