Will McCormick Named MTC Back of the Week

MACON, Ga. – Sophomore quarterback Will McCormick was named the Macon Touchdown Club “Back of the Week” on Monday night, Nov. 25 for his performance in FPD’s state playoff game at Calvary Day School last week.

The award was given to McCormick Monday evening in the clubs final meeting of the year with Georgia Southern head coach Jeff Monken as the featured speaker for the night.

McCormick was a threat both on the ground and in the pocket all evening long despite FPD’s 42-35 loss.

The righty completed 11-of-20 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns.

On the ground, McCormick racked up 86 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.

McCormick is the third football player that has been honored by the Macon Touchdown Club in 2013. Seniors Will Black and Ryan Lindsey picked up honors earlier in the season, respectively.

The Vikings finished the 2013 campaign 6-5 and advanced to the GHSA Class-A State Playoffs for a third consecutive season.
