A Dozen Football Players Named All-Middle Georgia

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Telegraph released its 2013 All-Middle Georgia Football Team on Sunday, Dec. 29 with twelve Vikings earning spots on the squad.

Highlighting the list was first-team defensive selection Will Black.

The senior, who was named the Region 7-A Defensive Player of the Year, played a critical role in securing FPD’s third straight trip to the GHSA State Playoffs. He finished the season with over 150 tackles, two interceptions and four forced fumbles.

FPD secured two spots on the second-team offense with sophomore wide receiver O’Showen Williams and senior offensive lineman Martin Wilson.

Williams blossomed into one of the most lethal offensive talents in the region, catching five touchdowns and averaging over 60 reception yards per game.

Wilson, who provided much needed size on the offensive line for the Vikings, helped the Red & Black rack up over 300 yards of offense per game.

The Vikings also had two players who picked spots on the third-team defense with seniors Caleb Samuel and Ryan Lindsey.

Samuel, who has committed to play at the University of North Carolina, wreaked havoc on opposing offenses while Lindsey played both ways as one of the top utility players in the league.

FPD placed seven other players on the team as honorable mentions. Brandon Cox, Reggie Gantt, Regan Greene, Palmer Haynes, Kam Hunter, Will McCormick and Jam Morris all picked up the nod, respectively.
