Boys Basketball Comes Up Short at Landmark in Season Opener

FAIRBURN, Ga. – The FPD boys basketball team (0-1) fell 80-62 to the Landmark Christian War Eagles in its season opening game Tuesday night, Dec. 3 at the Brick House Gymnasium.

FPD led early after one quarter at 21-20, but the War Eagles outscored the Vikings 60-41 over the final three quarters of the contest to secure the victory.

Sophomore O’Showen Williams paced the Vikings in scoring with 24 points while senior T.J. Sams knocked in 23 points.

Senior Caleb Samuel scored 10 points in his Viking debut as well.

Landmark capitalized on the long-ball, nailing 11 3-pointers throughout the game while FPD managed just four on the night.

The War Eagles (5-0) were led by the 13 points of Jackson Shultz while Sean Patterson chipped in with a dozen points (12) of his own.

The Vikings return to the court on Friday, Dec. 6, traveling to play the Brookstone Cougars in Columbus at 7:30 p.m.
