Boys Basketball Drops Home Opener to HoCo.

MACON, Ga. – FPD led at halftime, but a 24-point third quarter for Houston County propelled the Bears past the Vikings (0-3) 57-52 at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center on Tuesday night, Dec. 10 in FPD’s home opener.

Senior T.J. Sams and sophomore O’Showen Williams dropped in 17 points for FPD while senior Caleb Samuel chipped in with 12, but it wasn’t enough for the Vikings who drop to 0-3 for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

Amari Colbert netted 17 points for the Bears in the win while Darion Anderson posted 10 points, respectively.

The Vikings pulled within three points late in the fourth quarter after Williams drained a deep three, but Mykel Harris made two free throws and Houston County held on for the win.

FPD returns to action on Friday night, Dec. 13, traveling to play Harris County in Hamilton at 7:30 p.m.

The Vikings defeated Harris County last season, a 64-57 win on Dec. 14 in Hamilton.
