Boys Hoops Succumbs to Brookstone

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The FPD boys basketball team (0-2) dropped an 80-63 decision to the Brookstone Cougars on Friday night, Dec. 6 in a non-region match-up at Illges Gymnasium.

The Vikings led at the end of the first quarter 16-14, but the Cougars rallied to go on a 43-31 run over the next two frames to secure the victory.

FPD was led by the 26 points of senior T.J. Sams while sophomore O’Showen Williams posted 20 points, respectively.

The Cougars had four players in double-figures. Senior Fred Davies scored 22 points and fellow classmate Johnathan Gordon dropped in 21 points.

Brookstone’s Leye Olubowale finished the night with 13 points and junior Lucas Wolff netted 10.

FPD out-shot the Cougars from behind the arc 12-4 and Williams dished out seven assists in the loss.

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday night, Dec. 6, welcoming the Houston County Bears to the Middlebrooks Athletic Center for the 2013-14 home opener at 7:30 p.m.

The Bears most recently played Dublin on Dec. 6.
