Boys Basketball Bested by Hancock Bulldogs

MACON, Ga. – Four players scored in double-figures for Hancock Central High School as the Bulldogs (8-5, 3-1 Reg. 7) defeated the FPD Vikings (1-15, 0-4) 72-52 in a region contest on Tuesday night, January 22, at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

MarQuis Smith netted 20 points, and Montkevious Fluellen 18 to lead the Bulldogs to the win.

FPD trailed by just four points at the end of the third quarter at 13-9, but Hancock outscored the Vikings 42-27 in the middle quarters en route to the victory.

Senior T.J. Sams was the lone Viking in double-figures with 20 points.

FPD struggled with its free throw shooting on the evening, knocking in 17-of-40 attempts for 42.5 percent.

The Vikings held the advantage from beyond the arc, dropping in five 3-pointers to the Buldogs’ two.

FPD returns to action on Friday, Jan. 24, traveling to play Twiggs County in a region game at 7:30 p.m.
