Baseball Drops Home Opener to Strong Rock

MACON, Ga. – The FPD baseball team (0-4) dropped its 2014 home opener on Tuesday night, February 25, falling to the Strong Rock Christian School Patriots (5-1) 7-2.

The Patriots struck first by scoring two runs in the second inning and never relinquished the lead.

Strong Rock would put the game out of reach by tacking on five runs in the fourth frame.

FPD’s only two runs came in the bottom half of the seventh inning.

The Patriots outhit the Vikings 9-8 on the night.

Strong Rock’s Jessie Adams was 3-for-3 at the dish while FPD’s top hitter was Kendall Friar, who was 2-for-3.

Bill Woodroof (2-0) picked up the win on the mound for the Patriots, while Kevin Moreau (0-1) took the loss for FPD.

The Vikings will look for their first win of the season on Wednesday Feb. 26 hosting Southwest High School at Ben Harden Memorial Field at 5:30 p.m.
