Boys Basketball Downed by Wilco Warriors

MACON, Ga. – The FPD boys basketball team (3-17, 1-6 Reg. 7) saw its two-game winning streak snapped on Friday night, January 31, falling to the Wilkinson County Warriors (16-5, 7-0 Reg. 7) 77-55 in region play at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

Senior T.J. Sams netted 29 points for FPD to lead all scorers, but it wasn’t enough to stop a trifecta of Warriors in double-figures.

Derek Trawick posted 23 points, Torrico Simmons 20 and Trey Little 13 to lead the Warriors to the win.

The Vikings trailed 24-14 at the end of the first quarter , but outscored the Warriors 15-10 in the second quarter to trail by just five at halftime 34-29.

The Warrior came out firing in the second half, scoring 43 points en route to win.

Both teams capitalized from beyond the arc, hitting seven 3-pointers. Sams led FPD in three-point shooting with five, respectively.

The Vikings return to the hardwood quickly, hosting Landmark Christian on Saturday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. for Senior Night.
