Boys Soccer Advances to Viking Cup Finals

MACON, Ga. – The FPD boys soccer team (2-0) rattled off a win in the final twenty seconds of regulation, defeating the Howard High School Huskies 3-2 on Friday night, February 21, in semifinal action of the Viking Cup.

Kevin Griggs notched two goals in the win, his last proving to be the game-winner for the Vikings.

Christian Moore also scored a goal for FPD while Landon Newberry picked up an assist on the night.

FPD held the advantage in shots 10-8 in the match and Matthew Feagin picked up his second win in the net for the Vikings, corralling six saves.

The Vikings now advance to the Viking Cup Championship game on Saturday night, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of the Veterans-Fellowship match.
