Boys Soccer Wins Viking Cup Over Fellowship

MACON, Ga. – The FPD boys soccer team (3-0) won its third straight on Saturday night, February 22, defeating Fellowship Christian 2-1 and claiming the 2014 Viking Cup Championship.

“I am so proud of our guys,” head coach Josh Trieste said. “We have already made great improvements in our play this season and our players are really coming together.”

Bradley Mullis and Kevin Griggs each scored goals for the Vikings, who outshot Fellowship 15-5 on the night.

“A lot of players stepped up this weekend,” Trieste said. “We won as a team this weekend.”

Keeper Matthew Feagin picked up 11 saves in the net en route to earning his third win of the season.

Trieste says this is the third championship the boys team has won since he has been the head boys soccer coach at the school.

“Every member of our team can call themselves a champion tonight,” Trieste said. “Everyone has worked hard to get us better.”
