Girls Basketball Draws Calvary in Rd. 1 of State Playoffs

MACON, Ga. – The GHSA released its official Class-A Private State Tournament bracket today, with the FPD girls basketball team (16-8) earning the no. 14 seed overall after the final power rankings appeal.

The Lady Vikings will play at Calvary Day School, the no. 3 seed, in Savannah on Monday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Cavaliers saw a tremendous regular season, finishing with a 22-3 record overall and 9-1 in Region-3 play. Calvary took its region tournament title over Claxton High School 49-44 on Tuesday night, Feb. 18, respectively.

This is the second time in four years the Lady Vikings have advanced to the state tournament.

FPD’s last appearance was in 2011 against Athens Christian, falling 45-42.
