Lady Vikings Top Landmark on Senior Night

MACON, Ga. – The FPD girls basketball team (13-7) won its Senior Night game on Saturday, February 1, defeating the Landmark Lady War Eagles (8-13) 52-43 at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

All three of FPD’s seniors notched double-figures in scoring, led by Savannah Phillips’ 16 points, 12 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Lizzie Lisenby and Caroline Stroud tossed in 10 points each as FPD quickly erased it’s one-game losing streak.

The Lady Vikings led 13-9 at the end of the first quarter and 25-22 at halftime.

FPD turned on the offensive effort in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lady War Eagles 18-14.

Lisenby led all players with nine rebounds and sophomore Sydney Reese picked up five steals, three in the fourth quarter.

With her 16 points, Phillips is now 25 points away from one thousand for her career.

She and the Lady Vikings will return to action on Tuesday, February 4, traveling to GMC Prep for the season finale in a region-7 game.

Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. in Milledgeville.
