Baseball Nabs Third Straight with Win at Wilco

IRWINTON, Ga. – The FPD baseball team (8-5, 6-1 Reg. 7) stretched its winning streak to three games on Wednesday night, March 26, defeating the Wilkinson County Warriors 15-0 in 4.5 innings in Region-7 play.

K.J. Spears racked up four RBI’s on the day. He homered and doubled to lead the Vikings, who outhit the Warriors 10-2.

Austin Cox (4-1) picked up the win on the hill for the Vikings, allowing two hits and striking out eight.

Bo Fricks and Sam Jones also had success at the dish, each with multi-RBI performances.

Nine different players scored a run for the Vikings, led by Neal Tolbert’s three.

FPD scored eight of its 15 runs in the first three innings. The Vikings then sent home seven in the fourth frame.

The Vikings return to the diamond quickly, traveling across town to take on Rutland High School on Thursday, March 27. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
