Baseball Snags Region Win Over Aquinas

MACON, Ga. – The FPD baseball team (7-5, 5-1 Reg. 7) won its second straight game on Friday night, March 21, an 8-0 shutout decision over the Aquinas Fighting Irish at Ben Harden Memorial Field.

The Vikings scored six runs in the first three innings to put the game out of reach.

Austin Cox led the Viking attack at the plate, accounting for two RBI’s on the night. K.J. Spears proved to be a key catalyst for the FPD offense, scoring two runs and driving in a run.

Sam Jones (3-0) picked up the win for the Vikings on the hill, allowing no runs over five innings of work while striking out eight batters.

Kevin Moreau continued on that success in relief, scattering two hits and striking out two over two innings of action.

The baseball team returns to the diamond on Tuesday, March 25, traveling to Wilkinson County for a region contest at 4 p.m.

FPD defeated Wilkinson County 12-0 at Ben Harden Field on March 7.
