Soccer Claims Sweep at Mt. Pisgah

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The FPD girls and boys soccer teams took to the road on Friday, March 21, facing off against the Mt. Pisgah Patriots at the Patriot Athletic Campus.

The first match of the evening featured the Lady Vikings (10-0) against the Lady Patriots, with FPD holding on for a 2-1 victory after penalty kicks.

Brooke Battson netted FPD’s lone goal of the night in the first half on an assist from Amy Morgan and FPD bested Pisgah 4-2 in penalty kicks to earn the win.

FPD outshot the Lady Patriots 7-2 and keeper Megan Sparks notched one save in the winning bid.

Ashley Zambetti scored Pisgah’s goal, respectively.

In the boys match, the Vikings (8-1-1) preserved a 1-0 shutout win.

Kevin Griggs accounted for the only score of the game, which came in the first half of action on an assist from Michael Oates.

Keeper Matthew Feagin picked up six saves while opposing goalie Josh Swift snagged one carom.

Pisgah outshot FPD 4-2 on the night.

The soccer teams will return to the pitch quickly, traveling to play Our Lady of Mercy on Saturday, March 22. Kickoff for the girls match is scheduled for 5 p.m. with the boys to follow at 7 p.m.
