Tennis Splits with ELCA at Home

MACON, Ga. – The FPD girls and boys tennis teams hit the courts on Tuesday afternoon, March 18, against the Eagles Landing Christian Academy (ELCA) Chargers, with the Lady Vikings (6-0) earning an 8-0 win while the Vikings (4-2) dropped its match 4-1.

In the girls match, FPD took all the matches in singles play, highlighted by Mary Madison Foshee’s 8-0 win over Chandler Fielding.

FPD’s Brianna Flemming defeated Chanel Kim 8-6 and Yuka Yokoyama took down Chanel Newcomer 8-6.

In doubles, the Lady Vikings preserved the shutout bid by taking two wins. Maggie Moody/Summer Sanders fended off Jessie Knight/Jordan Fielding 8-2 while Sydney Reese/Ruth Samuel bested Sarah Greenburg/Blaire Wetherington 8-2.

In the boys match, the Vikings mustered just one victory on the day, an 8-2 doubles win for Austin Bardash/Taylor Burns over Matthew Youngblood/Jae Yue.

The tennis squads are back to play on Monday, March 24, hosting Spalding High School at 4 p.m.
