Boys Golf Takes Second at Area, Advances to Sectionals

MACON, Ga. – The FPD boys golf team took to the links on Tuesday, April 22 at Healy Point Country Club for the Class-A Area 1 Private Competition, finishing second overall with a team score of 305.

Dalton Taylor paced FPD, firing a 73 (+1) en route to a third place finish overall.

Brookstone took the overall title and earned the automatic bid to the GHSA State Finals from Area 1 with a team score of 296.

Charles Stroud had a strong showing on the course for the Vikings, posting a 74 (+2). Freshman Wesley Hanson signed his scorecard with a 76 (+4) and Brantley Wilson notched an 82 (+10).

With the runner-up finish, the Vikings will advance to the GHSA Sectionals on Monday, May 5 at Eagles Brooke Country Club in Locust Grove.
