Boys Soccer Drops Round Two Match at OLM

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. – The FPD boys soccer team knew it would be a challenge.

Losing one of your top scorers in the first round will certainly cause for concern.

But in the end, it was the high-powered offense of the Our Lady of Mercy Bobcats that prevailed as the Vikings (12-5-1) dropped its second round match 4-1 on Wednesday night.

Down 1-0 at halftime, the Vikings hoped its consistent offense would find success in the second period.

But two goals by the Bobcats ended FPD’s chances for a berth in the third round.

Bradley Mullis notched FPD’s lone goal of the contest as the Vikings were outshot 7-3. Matthew Feagin was credited with the assist.

Feagin corralled three saves in the net for FPD while Bobcat keeper Charlie Feldner secured two.

The season was a memorable one for the Vikings, who finished runner-up in Area 2.

FPD graduates seven seniors in Christian Moore, Chandler Cundiff, Sam Anderskow, Kelsey Smith, Michael Oates, Mullis, and Feagin.
