Softball Season Opener Venue Changed to FPD

MACON, Ga. – The FPD softball team and head coach Jim Turner announced a scheduling change today for its season opener on Saturday, August 9.

The Lady Vikings will now play both games against Rutland and Perry High School at the FPD Softball Complex instead of at Mercer University.

Times will remain the same, with FPD’s game against Rutland starting at 10 a.m. followed by a contest with Perry at noon (12 p.m.).

Rutland and Perry will square off in the final game of the day at 2 p.m., also at FPD.

The Lady Vikings finished the 2013 season at 23-10 and advanced to the GHSA Class-A Final Four for the first time in school history. FPD returns 13 players from last year’s state playoff roster.

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while upholding the school’s mission statement to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory.
