Football at No. 3 in Second GHSA Class-A Power Ratings

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the second edition of the Class-A Private Football Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 16 with the FPD Vikings grabbing a spot at no. 3 overall.

The ratings are used to determine the top-16 teams from Class-A public and private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

FPD (2-0) ranks in with 15.13 points with wins over Howard and Monticello to begin the season. Brookstone leads list with an overall point total of 18.67.

According to the polls, the Vikings jumped 24 spots after last week’s ranking of T-27.

The Vikings return to play on Friday, Sept. 19, traveling to GMC Prep in Milledgeville for their first road contest of the season. The game also kicks off Region-7 play for FPD.

Kickoff is schedule for 7:30 p.m.

The Vikings have won the past two battles against the Bulldogs, the most recent a 30-7 victory on Oct. 4, 2013.
