Softball Blasts Wilco 20-3 to Remain Unbeaten in Region

IRWINTON, Ga. – The FPD softball team picked up its sixth straight region win on Tuesday afternoon, powering past the Wilkinson County Lady Warriors 20-3 in three innings. The victory marks FPD’s 13th win in 14 games.

FPD scored seven runs in the first inning and 13 in the second to seal the win and bring the run-rule into effect.

Courtney Lawrence was 3-for-3 with three RBI while Jill Rogers and Allie Parkerson aided with two RBI of their own.

Four Lady Vikings posted multi-hit games en route to out-hitting the Lady Warriors 12-3. Katie Culver smashed two triples for the Lady Vikings as well.

Carli Sutton picked up her tenth win of the season to move to 10-5 on the year in the circle. The righty struck out three batters, walked one and allowed one earned run on the day.

Hannah Starley was 1-for-2 with two RBI for Wilkinson County. Tiffany Price took the loss for Wilco., allowing seven earned runs over three innings of work.

The Lady Vikings (16-6, 6-0 Reg. 7) return to action on Thursday, Sept. 18, hosting the Stratford Eaglettes. First pitch is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. at the FPD Softball Complex.
