Softball Stays at No. 3 in Second GHSA Power Ratings

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the second edition of the Class-A Private Softball Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 16 with the FPD Lady Vikings ranking at third overall in the polls.

The ratings are used to determine the top-16 teams from Class-A public and private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

The Lady Vikings (15-6, 5-0 Reg. 7) are first in Region-7 play and have won 12 out of 13 games entering play on Sept. 16. FPD ranked in with 10.76 points and remains just over two points off the top spot held by Eagles Landing Christian (12.91). Prince Avenue is second at 11.88.

The Lady Vikings return to the diamond this week on Tuesday, Sept. 16, traveling to Wilkinson County for a Region-7 game at 5 p.m. FPD returns home on Thursday, Sept. 18 to host region rival Stratford Academy at 5:55 p.m.

FPD defeated Wilco. 15-0 on Aug. 26 and bested Stratford 6-1 on Aug. 28.
