Softball to Host First Round of Region-7 Tourney, Glascock on Oct. 7

MACON, Ga. The FPD softball team will host the first round of the 2014 GHSA Class-A Region-7 Tournament on Tuesday, October 7, with two games scheduled at the FPD Softball Complex.

FPD locked up first place in sub-region B in Region-7A by finishing with a 9-1 region mark. By earning the top spot in that division, the Lady Vikings will host Glascock County, the no. 2-seed from sub-region A in Region-7A at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

The first place finisher in from sub-region A in Region 7 is GMC Prep, who will play the no. 2-seed from sub-region B in Tattnall Square Academy at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, also at FPD.

If both no. 1 seeds win, a coin flip would determine the site of the Region Tournament Championship game, set to be played on Thursday, Oct. 9.

The Lady Vikings finished the 2014 regular season at 19-7 overall.

FPD bested Glascock 5-3 in the 2013 season on Oct. 8 in Gibson.
