Softball Win Streak at Seven with Three Wins at Jeff Davis

HAZELHURST, Ga. – The FPD softball team pushed its winning streak to seven games on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Jefferson Davis Tourney, winning all three contests on the afternoon.

FPD’s first win was of the come-from-behind fashion, as the Lady Vikings scored three runs in the seventh to take the lead. Jill Rogers was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for FPD while Carli Sutton picked up the win in the circle.

In the second game of the afternoon, Peyton Worsham dazzled Metter hitters in a 6-0 shutout. The junior allowed just one hit while racking up five strikeouts.

Allie Parkerson hit the first of her two home runs of the day to finish the game at 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In the final contest of the day, the Lady Vikings defeated Bacon County 9-1 in five innings. Parkerson blasted her second home run of the afternoon and Sutton picked up the win the circle. Sumner Carlton was 1-for-3 with two RBI for the Lady Vikings.

Altogether, FPD outscored opponents 19-3 on the day. The Lady Vikings out-hit their adversaries 29-9.

FPD returns to Region-7 play on Thursday, Sept. 11, traveling across town to take on the Mt. de Sales Lady Cavaliers. First pitch is set for 5:55 p.m. at Cavalier Fields.
