Weather Cancels Softball Contest vs. Rutland

MACON, Ga. – Wednesday night’s severe thunderstorm caused the cancellation of FPD’s softball game against Rutland at the FPD Softball Complex.

The rainout is the first this season for the Lady Vikings.

Early lightning detected in the area pushed back the start of the junior varsity game as well, allowing for just two innings of play. The lightning returned prior to a severe thunderstorm being issued for Bibb county thus causing the game to be called.

A make-up date, if determined by both coaches, will be announced in the coming days. Check for schedule updates and FPD’s sports twitter account for breaking news.

FPD (6-5, 3-0 Reg. 7) puts their three-game winning streak on the line Thursday night, Sept. 4, traveling to Tattnall Square Academy in Macon for a Region-7 contest. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while upholding the school’s mission statement to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory.
