Boys Fifth, Girls Seventh at Last Chance Meet

CARROLLTON, Ga. – The FPD cross country teams competed in their final regular season meet on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Last Chance Meet hosted by Carrollton High School. It’s also the site of the GHSA Class-A State Meet in early November.

The Lady Viking and Vikings placed in the top-10 on the day, with the girls finishing seventh overall and the boys placing fifth.

In the girls meet, the Lady Vikings ran in the 5A (AAAAA) race and finished with 170 points on the day. McKenzie Peterson placed seventh with a time of 22:03 while Anna Claire Stietenroth took 40th at 25:59.

In the boys race, the Vikings also competed in the AAAAA race and tallied 131 points. Will Martin crossed the finish line at third overall at 17:29 and Bryce Little took tenth at 18:22.

The cross country teams return to action on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 29, hosting the GHSA Class-A Area 1 Private Meet at the Georgia Children’s Home in Macon at 1 p.m.

The Lady Vikings and Vikings have claimed the Area Meet each year since becoming a member of the GHSA in 2010. The Top-4 teams from the Area Meet in both the girls and boys race advance to the GHSA Class-A State Meet in November.
