Softball Admission Notes for GHSA Class-A State Playoffs Oct. 22-23

MACON, Ga. – The no. 3 seeded FPD softball team will host the first round of the GHSA Class-A Private State Softball Tournament on Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 22-23 in best-of-three game series at the FPD Softball Complex against the no. 13 seeded Strong Rock Christian Lady Patriots.

Games 1 and 2 are scheduled for a 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. start on Oct. 22 with the “if necessary” Game 3 set for Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m.

As a reminder to all fans, the GHSA mandates strict gate admission policies for the State Playoffs.

The cost for admission to Wednesday’s doubleheader is $7 while the cost of Thursday’s “if game” is $5.

Only GHSA Coaching Passes, GAOA membership cards, and valid media credentials will be honored for free admission. FPD season passes, faculty/spouse passes, etc. will not be acknowledged.

The Lady Vikings (21-7, 11-1 Reg. 7-A) finished the 2014 season as the GHSA Class-A Region-7 Tournament Champions with a 4-3 victory over Tattnall on Oct. 9.

FPD advanced to the Elite Eight of the 2013 GHSA Class-A State Tournament, its best finish in school history since joining the league in 2010. The Lady Vikings finished third overall in the double-elimation portion of the tournament.
