Softball at No. 3 in GHSA Power Ratings for Oct. 7

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the fifth edition of the Class-A Private Softball Power Ratings on Tuesday, Oct. 7 with the FPD Lady Vikings ranking at third overall in the polls for a fifth consecutive week.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

The Lady Vikings (19-7, 9-1 Reg. 7) finished the regular season first in sub-region B play, ranking in with 13.05 points. First in the power ratings belongs to Eagle’s Landing Christian (16.67 points, 24-6 record) and second is Prince Avenue (15.11 points, 22-3 record).

The Lady Vikings return to the diamond on on Tuesday, October 7, hosting the first round of the Region-7 Tournament as the no. 1 seed from sub-region B. FPD will play Glascock County, the no. 2 seed from sub-region A at 6 p.m.

The early game of the day features GMC Prep (no. 1 from sub-region A) against Tattnall Square Academy (no. 2 from sub-region B) at 4 p.m.

Tattnall sits behind FPD in fourth place in the power ratings with 12.44 points.
