Volleyball Advances to Rd. 2 of Area with Win Over Greenville

MACON, Ga. – The FPD volleyball team picked up its sixth consecutive win on Thursday night, defeating the Greenville High School Lady Patriots 2-0 [25-4/25-7] in the first round of the GHSA Class-A Area 2 Tournament at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

The Lady Vikings will advance to the Area 2 Tournament semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. vs. Mt. de Sales at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

Junior Abigail Pierce led FPD with nine aces and six kills while sophomore Kate Patterson finished with seven aces and two kills.

Senior Alisha Napier totaled three aces and Mackenzie Johnson posted four kills and two aces.

FPD (20-17) is now 2-0 against Greenville this season after Thursday’s win. FPD claimed a 2-0 victory back on Sept. 16 at home.

The Lady Vikings also bested Mt. de Sales 2-1 [28-26/18-25/25-19] on Sept. 30 at home.
