Football at No. 12 in Nov. 11 GHSA Power Ratings

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the tenth edition of the Class-A Private Football Power Ratings on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with the FPD Vikings grabbing a spot at 12th overall.

The ranking is tentatively good for a spot in the Class-A Private State Playoffs, set to begin Friday, Nov. 21, against a team to be determined.

Schools have 24 hours to appeal the power ratings. Brackets will be finalized and released along with the final power ratings on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 12.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private on a weekly basis. At season’s end, those teams qualify for the GHSA Class-A State Playoffs.

FPD (7-3) ranks in with 11.59 points with wins over Howard, Monticello, GMC Prep twice, Mt. de Sales, Wilkinson County and Twiggs County. Calvary Day School jumped to the top of the rankings with 15.26 points followed by Aquinas in second at 15.03.

According to the polls, the Vikings moved up one spot after last week’s 31-7 Region 7 Crossover win at GMC Prep in Milledgeville.
