Football Scores Eight on GHSA Class-A All-Region 7 Squad

MACON, Ga. – FPD football head coach Greg Moore announced today that eight Viking football players have been named to the GHSA Class-A All-Region 7 Football Team, as voted on by all coaches in the region.

Five players landed on the All-Region 7 offensive team while three were named to the defensive unit.

It’s always nice to have some of your players acknowledged and applauded by those outside our own locker room,” Moore said. “So many of our kids had a great season, and not all of them are on the All-Region team.”

Members of the offensive team were juniors Will McCormick (QB), Reggie Gantt (RB) and Robby Watson (OL). Seniors Jam Morris (WR) and Palmer Haynes (OL) also took spots on the offensive squad.

“All of these guys worked really hard throughout the season,” Moore said. “They certainly deserve the credit and our team celebrates their success with them.”

FPD’s defensive selections included seniors Jonathan Raines (DB), Noah Groover (DL) and Cole Thomason (DL).

“More times than not, the defensive guys don’t get the recognition they deserve,” Moore said. “All of our guys worked really hard on defense, especially the three that were chosen.”

The Vikings finished 2014 at 7-4 overall and advanced to the GHSA Class-A State Playoffs for a fourth consecutive year.
