SAVANNAH, Ga. – The FPD girls basketball team struggled offensively on the final day of the Savannah Country Day Christmas Tournament, falling to the host school Lady Hornets 57-19 on Saturday afternoon at Demere Gymnasium.

Sophomore Emma Lako led the Lady Vikings (1-5) with six points on the night while classmate Kate Patterson finished with five.

The Lady Vikings trailed by just two points at 13-11 at the end of the first quarter but the Lady Hornets closed out the last three quarters of the game on a 44-8 run to hand FPD its fifth consecutive defeat.

The Lady Hornets (7-1) had three players in double-figures, paced by the 18 points of Taylor Parker. Anna Miller knocked in 15 points and Amari Oliver finished with 12.

Savannah Country Day nailed five 3-pointers in the contest while the FPD failed to drop in a bucket from downtown.

FPD will return to action in 2015 on Friday, Jan. 2, hosting Twiggs County High School for the beginning of Region-7 play.

Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.
