Will Martin Named to All-Middle Georgia Boys Cross Country Team

MACON, Ga. – Junior Will Martin continues to add to his impressive resume.

After a season that saw him place no lower than seventh place in seven out of eight meets, FPD’s no. 1 runner has been named to The Macon Telegraph’s All-Middle Georgia Boys Cross Country Team, announced Monday, Dec. 22.

Martin was instrumental in leading the Vikings to a fifth consecutive Area Championship in 2014.

Martin picked up first place finishes in four races this past season: the Wesleyan Invitational, the FPD/WRHS Invitational, the Mt. de Sales Cavalier Cross Country Clash and the GHSA Area-1 Private Championship.

At the GHSA Class-A State Meet in November, Martin placed seventh overall at 17:49 while leading the Vikings to an eighth place finish.

“We are proud of Will and this great accomplishment,” head coach Shane Hall said. “As he continues to get better, he makes his teammates better. It will be neat to see him compete his senior season.”

Martin also picked up All-Middle Georgia nods in 2012 and 2013.
