Lady Vikings Drop 53-20 Decision to Tattnall Lady Trojans

MACON, Ga. – A slow night on offense coupled with a high-powered Tattnall Square squad sent the Lady Vikings (3-8, 2-2 Reg. 7A) to the loss column on Tuesday night, Jan. 13, falling to the Lady Trojans 53-20 in GHSA Region 7-A action at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

Three players netted double-figures for the Lady Trojans, who pushed its winning streak to nine. Abby Rouse scored  game-high 12 points while Kendra Green and Haley Gordon chipped in with 11 and 10 respectively.

“That’s a really good basketball team,” FPD head coach John Griffin said. “They pressure you in so many ways and can score from many players on their roster. We didn’t match their intensity tonight.”

FPD had trouble scoring all evening and trailed 21-7 at halftime. Tattnall would close out the game on a 24-13 run to seal the win.

The Lady Vikings were led in scoring by the five points of Lizzie Reed. Emma Lako and Kate Patterson each put in four points as well.

“We’ll have to go back to the drawing board and continue to get better,” Griffin said. “There are still some things we can do to get better as a basketball team.”

The Lady Vikings return to the court on Friday, Jan. 16, traveling to Wilkinson County for Region-7A contest against the Lady Warriors at 6 p.m.
