Scoreless Fourth Dooms Girls Hoops in 35-28 Loss to George Walton

MACON, Ga. – A scoreless fourth quarter on offense coupled with a 16 point outburst by the George Walton Lady Bulldogs proved to be the difference as the FPD Lady Vikings fell 35-28 at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center on Saturday, Jan. 3 in non-region play.

FPD sophomore Kate Patterson paced the Lady Vikings (2-6) with 10 points and nine rebounds, but it was the play of George Walton’s Zalandria Hill in the fourth quarter that sent the Lady Bulldogs (6-4) to the victory.

Hill scored nine of her 14 points in the final eight minutes. Teammate Jessie Allen also chipped in with 11 points on the night.

The Lady Vikings led 20-12 at halftime, but was outscored 23-8 over the final two quarters.

FPD totaled 26 team rebounds in the loss. Sophomore Bailey Ruble corralled eight rebounds and dished out two assists in the losing effort.

The Lady Vikings return to region play on Tuesday night, Jan. 6, hosting cross-town rival Stratford Academy at 6 p.m.

The Eaglettes most recently knocked off Wilkinson County 42-19 on Jan. 2.
