Battson’s Goal Pushes Lady Vikings Past Tift County 1-0

MACON, Ga. – The FPD girls soccer team (3-0) earned its third straight win on Friday night, Feb. 27, defeating the Tift County Lady Blue Devils 1-0 in non-region play at the FPD Soccer Complex.

Brooke Battson scored the lone goal of the match in the first half for the Lady Vikings on an assist from Sara Robertson.

The Lady Vikings out-shot the Lady Blue Devils a whopping 21-2 in the match.

FPD keeper Caylee Ann Sutton snagged two saves in the winning effort. Tift’s Callie McCallister picked up 13 caroms in the loss.

FPD will host the Viking Cup next week, with its first match scheduled for Thursday, March 5, against Warner Robins High School.

Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
