Boys Soccer Secures 8-0 Shutout Over Dooly County

MACON, Ga. – The FPD boys soccer team (1-0)  started its 2015 campaign on the right foot on Thursday night, February 12, shutting out the Dooly County Bobcats 8-0 at the FPD Soccer Complex.

“It’s always nice to start the season off with a win,” FPD head coach Josh Trieste said. “We got some open looks and were able to knock them in the net when we needed to.”

Spencer Ennis netted a hat trick to lead the Viking attack while Henry Middlebrooks punched in two scores. Kevin Griggs, Robert Johnson and Cole Morton each added a goal as well for the Vikings, who moved to 1-0 in Area-2 play.

“We had a lot of guys get involved on the offensive attack and that’s nice to see,” Trieste said. “Our defense also was able to secure a shutout.”

FPD will return to the pitch on Wednesday, Feb. 18 in the first round of the Viking Cup. The Vikings will take on Putnam County at 3:30 p.m.
