Girls and Boys Tennis Knock Off Mary Persons

FORSYTH, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys tennis teams were in action on Monday afternoon, Feb. 23, at Mary Persons High School, with both teams picking up wins in non-region play.

The Lady Vikings (3-0) picked up their third consecutive victory, an 8-0 decision over the Lady Bulldogs.

FPD took home singles wins from Maggie Moody (8-1), Mary Madison Foshee (8-0) and Brianna Flemming (8-0). FPD’s doubles squads of Anna Matthews/Katlyn Smaha and Ruth Samuel/Sydney Reese each finished with 8-2 victories as well.

In the boys match, the Vikings (2-1) snapped a quick one-match slide with a 3-2 win. Brooks Hanson earned an 8-1 win in singles play for the Vikings while Noah Kilgore/Bryce Little and Will Kennedy/Malcolm Mancin notched victories in doubles play, 8-0 and 8-2 respectively.

The Lady Vikings and Vikings return to the court on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 27-28, at the Camden County Invitational.
