Girls Tennis Takes Down West Laurens, Boys Stumble

MACON, Ga. – The FPD Lady Vikings tennis team (4-0) picked up a 5-0 win on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 26, at the John Drew Tennis Center while the Vikings (2-2) dropped a 1-4 decision in non-region play against the West Laurens Raiders.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings picked up three singles victories from Mary Madison Foshee (6-4, 6-1), Brianna Flemming (6-2, 6-1) and Maggie Moody (6-2, 6-3) while the doubles duo of Sydney Reese/Summer Sanders (6-2, 7-5) and Ruth Samuel/Yuka Yokoyama (6-1, 6-1) each finished with a win.

In the boys match, FPD’s Brooks Hanson earned a singles victory in three sets (6-1, 1-6, 10-5).

The tennis teams return to the court this weekend, Feb. 27-28, at the Camden County Invitational in Kingsland, GA.
