Girls Tennis Victorious while Boys Stumble Against Bleckley

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys tennis teams were in action on Thursday afternoon, February 12, hosting a match against the Bleckley County Royals at the John Drew Tennis Center.

The Lady Vikings (2-0) picked up a 5-0 win while the Vikings (1-1) dropped their first match of the season 4-1.

All three singles matches were won by the Lady Vikings: Maggie Moody 8-3, Brianna Flemming 8-1 and Mary Madison Foshee 8-1. FPD’s doubles teams of Summer Sanders/Ruth Samuel and Yuka Yokoyama/Sydney Reese picked up 8-3 and 8-1 wins, respectively.

In the boys match, the Vikings only picked up one win as Brooks Hanson knocked off his opponent 8-5.

The tennis teams return to action on Thursday, Feb. 12, traveling to Mary Persons High School in Forsyth for a match at 4 p.m.
