Boys Golf Takes Down Howard High 156-216

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity boys golf team picked up a win on Wednesday afternoon, knocking off the Howard High School Huskies 156-216 at Healy Point Country Club.

“We had a lot of guys swing the club really well,” FPD head coach Charley Chase said. “I’m proud of the guys for their effort this afternoon.”

FPD was led in scoring by junior Charles Stroud, who fired a 37 (+1) in the nine-hole match.

Freshman Wilson Andress finished with a 37 (+1) while sophomore Wesley Hanson and senior Brantley Wilson carded a 39 (+3) and 41 (+6), respectively.

Howard was led in scoring by Weldon Hutchings’ 40 (+4).

The Vikings return to the links on Saturday, March 14, traveling to the Lafayette Invitational in Lafayette, Ga.
